Facials and Peels Q&A

What are facials and chemical peels, and how do they differ?

Facials and chemical peels are both skincare treatments aimed at improving the health and appearance of the skin. They work in slightly different ways.

Facials typically involve cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, and moisturization to rejuvenate and nourish the skin. Chemical peels involve applying a chemical solution to the skin to remove damaged outer layers, revealing smoother, more youthful-looking skin underneath.

What skin concerns do chemical peels address?

There are various types of chemical peels available, including superficial, medium, and deep peels, each with different strengths and penetration depths.

Superficial peels are gentle and primarily exfoliate the outermost layer of the skin, making them suitable for addressing minor skin concerns such as acne, dullness, and fine lines.

Medium peels penetrate deeper into the skin to target moderate issues like sun damage, uneven texture, and pigment irregularities.

Deep peels are the most aggressive and can effectively treat severe wrinkles, scars, acne, pigmentation, and other deep skin imperfections.

Here at North Texas Med360 we also offer the highly requested- “No Downtime” 35% TCA Peel, BioRePeelCl₃®. Unlike traditional deep peels, BioRePeel’s unique formula works from the outside in. This chemical peel does not cause any injury to the epidermis, rather bypasses it and goes directly down to the dermis resulting in a micro-peel effect. Patients can achieve deep peel results with little to no peeling at all!

What is dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is an exfoliation technique that involves using a sterile surgical scalpel to gently scrape away dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the skin’s surface. This treatment enhances the effectiveness of facials and chemical peels by allowing better product penetration and smoother application.

Dermaplaning also results in a brighter complexion and smoother skin texture.

What is a Diamond Glow facial?

DiamondGlow® is an advanced facial that revolutionizes your complexion. DiamondGlow uses a patented recessed diamond tip wand to deliver a next-level resurfacing treatment that deeply cleans and rejuvenates the skin.

You’ll undergo exfoliation to reveal renewed skin, extraction to remove debris from your pores, and infusion with medical-grade SkinMedica® serums. These serums plump dull skin, ease dry skin texture, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. They also help reduce hyperpigmentation and provide a deep cleanse revealing glowing results.
