The trees shed their leaves to make way for new growth, and you can do the same for your skin. Here’s how chemical peels and dermaplaning team up to strip away old skin and leave you with a fresh face.

Fall in Frisco, Texas, offers a respite from the heat and stunning color changes across the landscape. Take a cue from the earth’s regeneration and consider what shedding and regrowth can do for your skin.

At North Texas Med360, Jenine Referente, FNP-C, and Kayla Posada, CLT, offer several ways to rejuvenate your skin to let its natural beauty shine. Two of our most popular treatments are chemical peels and dermaplaning.

Individually, they’re excellent stand-alone treatments but work even better together. Here’s a glimpse at each.

Chemical peels

Chemical peels come in three general types: superficial, medium, and deep. Depending on the severity of your complexion problems, we customize an acid solution that addresses all your concerns. The no-downtime 35% TCA peel and the BioPeelCl are our most popular treatments.

No-downtime 35% TCA peel

The no-downtime 35% TCA peel is a powerful yet gentle chemical peel that refreshes your skin without the extensive recovery period associated with traditional peels. It contains 35% trichloroacetic acid (TCA), which exfoliates the outer layers of the skin.

Despite its strength, this peel formula minimizes irritation and downtime, allowing you to continue your daily activities. If you have a busy schedule and need a quick way to reduce fine lines, diminish acne scars, and improve skin texture, this peel is for you.

Our BioPeelCl3®

The BioPeelCl3 is another advanced option with minimal downtime. It’s a revitalizing peel that blends acids and bioactive compounds to simultaneously exfoliate and nourish your skin.

Unlike traditional peels that strictly focus on cell turnover, BioPeelCl3 also hydrates and improves skin elasticity, is suitable for all skin types, and addresses various concerns, including uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, and fine lines.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation technique. We use a surgical scalpel to gently scrape off the top layer of dead skin cells and fine hair (peach fuzz). It leaves your skin feeling incredibly smooth and allows for better absorption of skin care products.

While DIY dermaplaning kits may seem convenient and cost-effective, our professional dermaplaning offers several distinct advantages.

First, our trained professionals use the equipment precisely, minimizing the risk of nicks or cuts.

Second, our licensed aestheticians have in-depth knowledge of skin types and conditions, allowing us to tailor the treatment to your specific needs.

Third, we maintain stringent hygiene standards, reducing the likelihood of infections and complications. We also use high-quality, sterile tools designed explicitly for dermaplaning, which are not typically available in consumer kits.

Benefits of combining chemical peels and dermaplaning

As we mentioned, chemical peels and dermaplaning are great on their own, but together, they give you a one-two punch that doubles their effectiveness. Here’s what you can expect when we combine these two treatments:

  1. Better exfoliation

Dermaplaning preps your skin by removing the surface layer of dead cells, allowing the chemical peel to penetrate more deeply.

  1. Improved texture and tone

The combination removes dead, flaky, dull cells, smoothing skin texture and tone.

  1. Better product absorption

After treatment, your skin absorbs products more effectively, maximizing their benefits.

  1. Reduced fine lines and wrinkles

Regular combo treatments can help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time.
